Clumpy and Excessive Vaginal Discharge

I tested positive for HSV-2 a couple months ago after I had experienced my first outbreak. Since then, I've been feeling fine and recovering fairly well. I have not been sexually active since I found out I have the virus; however, recently, I have been itchy and uncomfortable with some abnormal vaginal discharge. I literally scooped out an excessive amount of clumpy cottage cheese-like discharge, which freaked me out. There was a lot! It was not odorous. It just looked strange to me. Sorry to be so graphic but I'm trying to figure out if anyone else has experienced this? I've had yeast infections before and it doesn't exactly feel like one. However, the discharge looks pretty similar. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I was tested positive for that too...I've been experiencing an excessive amount of discharge also and don't know why. Mine isn't clumpy, it's extremely watery and I have to wear a panty liner out in public because of this problem. It is itchy and uncomfortable but when I asked my doctor about it, they said it's bacteria vaginosis. They gave me antibiotics for it and it cleared right up. But all the time in between periods or just whenever, it comes back. I think it's a normal symptom that comes along with this virus. You should probably still go consult with your doctor if it's a big problem. Hope this helps

This sounds like a yeast infection but you should see your provider to confirm it. I don't recommend self treating.
