Could I have . . ??

Hi. I'm a sixteen year old female and I think I'm freaking out mostly because I have a not so severe Mysophobia. I drank by accident out of my friends water bottle and he's sexually active and I fear that I now may have oral herpes because I seem to have the symptoms. I'm sorry I must seem insane but I know  him very well and all of the oral sex etc. I've been experiencing a slight sore throat and I've gotten well it wasn't really a big sore, a small canker sore but I didn't bite myself on my inner lip. Then while it was healing I got a scratch on my right inner cheek and they've both healed pretty quickly. Now I have a miniscule cut at the very end of my inner lip. Nothing has appeared on the outside of lips and I drank from his bottle about 2 weeks ago approximately.

But because of my slightly stuffy nose, my coughing and sometimes with phlegm - I also suspect it might be the common cold or just allergies because of the climate change, I even suspect anxiety because of finals week. I just can not see where the sore comes in.

Thanks

at your age you are only going to contract oral herpes from either performing oral sex on someone or from kissing someone.  1 out of every 3 people you know, has oral herpes. it's THAT common and you might even have contracted it yourself as a child even if you can't recall a history of cold sores.

Other very common germs are easily transmitted from sharing drinks - including colds.  A sore throat is more likely because of that than it is from oral herpes.
