I hope to have sex again. lol :) I really miss my bf. Its been almost 2 months without sex because of this itchy, reddish look inside labia majora...
Constant itching would not be herpes related. If you have a fungal infection from the Yeast you would need some antifungal cream to help clear it up. Talk to your doc about this and the 1% cream.
they first diagnosed and treat me. The discharge and the odor gone though. but that itchy red vulva stayed. Could it be herpes related? I always get my blisters around pubic hair and its quit mild. I don't know what causing this itch :( I am out of my mind aargh hate this
Hi, did they test correctly for BV and yeast? As since youve had a discharge fungal is definately on the list for the cause of irritations like itching. If BV and YI are ruled out ask your doc about 1% cortizone cream as is an anti itch cream.
vaginitis is common in women. Some recent research does show that herpes can cause you to have it more often. That said, treat the two conditions as totally separate from each other.
if your regular gyn is just doing a looksee when you go to be seen and not doing proper testing for vaginitis, insist that they start testing again. guessing and throwing medications at you can just add to skin discomfort. if the redness continues without discharge and your gyn is stumped, look to see if you can find a dermatologist who has experience in vulvovaginal disease and be seen. Many things can cause itching and redness and if you are testing negative for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections, time for a further work up.
meanwhile, give your genital area some extra tlc. Use only unscented toilet paper. Use a plain soap like unscented dove. when you can, go bottomless so that you get cool, drying air to your genital area as well as it reduces friction. If you spend most of your day in tight work out clothes, going bottomless at home should help. You can also consider using a barrier cream like desitin or aquaphor ointment. anything you use on a baby butt is fine. the cream will soothe irritated skin, protect it and help it heal. always avoid topical steroids in the genital area unless told to use them by a doctor. They can thin the delicate genital skin and cause more trouble than they help over time :(
don't let your herpes get you down!! It's just a random infection that you were unlucky enough to get. You taking daily suppressive therapy, avoiding sex whenever anything is going on genitally and using condoms makes your bf 99% likely each year NOT to contract hsv2 from you!! you are far more likely to get pregnant than you are to transmit your herpes to your partner. Daily suppressive therapy keeps recurrences few and far between so that you can have a completely normal sex life.
