Could it be false positive??

I have been in pain for a week. i used nair a week ago and it started stinging when i urinated the same day. I assumed it was a reaction. I went to dr's two days later and she said it was hair folical infections. Ended up in Urgent care same night with flu like symptoms.. they said they think its herpes.they did a culture and told me results be back in 2 days After no answer and the pain meds not helping. I couldn't walk, couldnt pee without it hurting, and missed work for three days, went back to dr. He said he didnt think it was herpes. By the seventh day i was unable to pee, i think it was anxiety about the pain. I went to ER and while i was there the urgent care called and said test was positive. I told ER and they treated me for it.

Anyway it could be a false positive???

The infection area itself is not what is bothering me anymore. (painwise)
i'm have pains in my arms, legs and feet and occasionally in my lower back. i've been soaking in baths with epson salt and doesnt seem to be doing much.

having bv makes you vulnerable to being infected with herpes genitally as well as it makes herpes 'worse'. recurrences for you won't be this extensive on average - the first one is typically the worst.

also try something as simple as soaking in the bathtub with epsom salts thrown in. the epsom salts are soothing ( and very cheap ) and help with pain and itching. also anytime you can go bottomless, do so ( a bathrobe or a long sleep shirt keep you from mooning the whole house ). It helps reduce friction as well as gets cool drying air to your genital area.

hang in there - it will get better!

Also I mean to say the outbreaks shouldn't be as painful or as long.  The inital outbreak is the most painful and the usually the longest as your body is fighting the infection at this point.

Did the Dr. Office contact the Urgent care / Lab to get the results typed at this point?  They can do that without seeing you.  Ask to speak with the nurse or even the office manager at this point to ensure you do that.  You don't want the lab getting rid of your stuff before typing can be done.

Try the things grace said they are rather helpful.

called the drs. they cant fit me in for 2 weeks. This Outbreak better be over before then. I dont think i have enough pain meds and lidocaine to get me through till then. I'm actually taking less pain meds and using less lidocaine but still worried about running out.
Things seem to be getting better. I hope all my OB's are nit this long.
They said i had some type of bacterial infection they have me on flagyl and keflex as well for the bacterial.
I did have a regular partner. We broke up because of this diagnosis. He says he is going to get tested as well.
