Could this possibly HSV and how?

I performed unprotected oral sex on a man for a few minutes and then received protected anal sex. 11 days later I got a swollen pimple like bump on the shaft of my penis. No problems anywhere else so far. The person showed no visible signs of herpes on his penis. Could I have contracted herpes on my penis if my penis did not have contact with him? The bump I have has thick white or yellowish discharge that is started to get better 4 days later but is tender and sore to the touch.

Thanks for your reply. I am more at ease. Actually HSV 2 was 0.23. not .023 (typo on my part). Still way low. You are doing a great service for this site. Much appreciated.

HSV1 testing is not as reliable as HSV2. Depending on the testing you've had in the past there is a chance you've had HSV1 since your youth. The most reliable way to catch genital HSV1 is with a swab.

You couldn't have a lower HSV2 reading if you substituted your blood for pure water!

I received my HSV 1 & 2 test results to day online ( e- mail) through my patient portal from my doctor. It was Igg test. I know the results probably doesn't reflect my last encounter but I'm confused by the numbers. HSV 1 was 1.36 and HSV 2 was .023. What does this mean? My Doc attached note that said there is no infection and I'm not contagious. The HSV 1 number seems high. I'm confused about the results.

I have tested negative for both HSV types about 2yrs ago by blood test. I visited my Primary Care Physician on the 2nd day of bump or lesion appeared. She could not tell me sure what it was but she took a blood sample for lab. Still waiting on results. She did not take a culture sample. She gave me Mupirocin cream to apply 2-3 times daily. While taking a warm bath the bump came to a head and the pus was thick. It now has no pus but is a little swollen but much better but still tender to the touch and has a little itch sometimes. Any more info you might have is appreciated. Thanks for helping me with my question.

This would not appear to be a primary herpes outbreak which you would expect to be at the site the virus entered the body and potentially spreading from there.

A single boil like lesion with thick pus is also not sounding much like a herpes lesion. Have you tested negative for HSV in the past, particularly HSV2?

Is this too big to be an inflamed fordyce spot which are usually within about 5mm in diameter? They can generate very thick paste type discharge. Otherwise your penis is not immune from pimples and the like.
