Cure time for outbreak?

Earlier this week (tues) I noticed a small rash on my shaft. I put some hydrocortisone on it to reduce the slight itching and the next morning the rash had progressed into 4 distinguished pink bumps. The biggest of the bumps was about 1cm. I made sure the area was clean and kept applying hydrocortisone. The bumps are all but gone today (fri). I was wondering if these types of bumps were typical of herpes and if herpes can even heal this fast?

I have had something similar to this before however I was going through a poison ivy episode then. That time the bumps covered a much larger area. They have never been open sores or have they scabbed. They just seem to go away within 3 or 4 days. Any thought?

you can order up your own type specific herpes igg blood testing through an online facility like healthcheckusa or tstd if you want. check their websites to see which has a participating lab near you. you only want to order the herpes igg blood test. they both only offer type specific igg herpes testing.

Where would you recommend to get tested? I was recently tested for all STIs excluding HPV and Herpes. The facility I did the testing at could only test for herpes if there were open sores, so I was not able to get blood work done there unfortunately.

everyone who is sexually active should be periodically tested for herpes to know their status. why not get it done for once and for all? you can your partners can't make educated decisions until you know who has what.

no I have never gotten blood work done for the herpes virus.  I have read almost everywhere that a herpes outbreak usually involves fluid filled blisters that burst, become lesions, then heal. This is not what I have experienced at all which is why I am not sure if this is in fact a symptom of a herpes infection. I do work outside and it is very possible that I came in contact with more poison ivy but I know I can't attribute every little bump to poison ivy. Do my symptoms sound as if they could be herpes?

since the rash is gone, nothing to be gained by being seen at this point.

have you ever had a herpes igg blood test?
