did blood test 4 days after sex, came back positive, too soon? previous partner?

hi i've been with 1 partner for about 12 years, w'ere going through some troubles recently where she asked to break up. a little while after I ended up having sex with someone else about oct 25th 2017, i then went and got tested for everything about 3 days later I had sex with that other person. they took a blood sample, and said it would take about a week to get my results. i got my results and tested negative for aids, hiv, syphilis but it came back positive for hsv 2/ herpes.

my question is 3 days after sex with someone new too soon for antibodies to show up in my blood stream to test positive? leading me to believe that i had it before i had sex with this recent girl (which was a one time thing)

i haven't seen any symptoms, i have a strong immune system, no sores no iching puss and all that rah rah. its been about 18 days since i've had sex with that one time other girl.

I would retest in a few weeks. That's a low positive for that perticular test.

well i went to the doctor today and she as well said that yeah 4½ days is kinda soon for antibodies to start showing up in the blood, and she as well thinks that it may be from my previous long term 12 year girlfriend. as well as considering that the HSV 2 lgH Antibodies result was 31.66, she said that if it was closer to between 9 and 11 which is equivocal, she woulda say that it could be from the new one time girl.
so i guess you guys were right, i'm going to pay a lil $20 usd to get some second opinions  from other doctors to see what they say,and if they say the same thing, then i would see if i could have the talk with my x girl and see what her test results are like.

There was this one time I'm talking like 6 years ago, still dating the long term 12 year girl, having regular sex and I did look up some pictures of genital herpes and I did see something kinda similar it was really mild, no spots or bumps on my dick, shaft, or head, just like about 4 very small about half the size of a rice grain, kind of hardened skin just like 4 spots more underneath the public hair none really on the genitals itself or legs or thighs just just 3 or 4 random specs like stars in the sky in that v shaped area where public hair grows, and I didn't use any cream, take any meds it didn't hurt (I thought it was just poor nutrition or my blood needed cleaning or something), and it went away like in 4 weeks without anything. never came back. I don't know if that's it but other than that, the usual like once every 2 years I'll get one of those pimples on the inside of the lip that's you burst, that heals on it's own, I thought it was from eating too much chocolate, and you know you get pimples in weird places sometimes? I chucked it up to that.

I don't know this week I'll go back to the doctor and ask her the same question, if 4½ days after having sex with a new 1 time person it's too soon to show up in the blood stream. There is just no easy way of asking your long term x girl to take a herpes test, and of course telling her that I did a test and found out some pretty bad news. I would be glad if she's clean that would be so good for her, but then frick that would mean that that other girl really gave me the thing, and I wish there was a way to know for sure that 4½ days is impossible for antibodies to show up after having sex with someone, then I would know that it's definitely not that new girl and it's something before that.

less than 9 they said is negative
between 9 and 11 is equivocal and
greater than 11 is positive

I can confidently say it's a previous infection

Also, whay test was used? What was the IgG value? Donypu have a history of cold sores? Could be a false positive

Yes. Way too soon. I suspect a previous infection

I now zoned in on the dates/ times I had sex with the other girl sunday 22nd @ 9:00pm and I went for the test/ they extracted blood from me on friday 27th @ 11:00 am so 4½ days.
