Could I have HSV2 for years?

On Jan 28th I notice a bump on my vag  that was hurting and by the time I went to the dr the follow Tuesday I had a couple more blisters. It hurted really bad. They did a swab culture and it came back postive for hsv2. That lasted about 2-3 weeks to heaal. On March 1st I had another outbreak which. I think the outbreak came from stress and crying. This time the outbreak 100% better then before. It was bout an inch or so below my vag, before you get to my anus and on the cheek part. It was 2 pimples that within a week busted and i believe its call an ulcer(like a white raw skin). So I believe that I'm newly infected because I never had a pain like this before down there but my problem is that I'm married! I been married for the past 4 years and I never cheated and he swears that he never cheated. I believe him when he say he hasn't for one  I work from home, his license has been suspended for over an year, so I have to drop him off and pick him up from work everyday for the last almost 2 years. We rarely go anywhere if we do we together, if he do leave it's with our daughter to his grandparents house for a couple hours, plus we just move to this state and don't know anyone.

We have been together for 11 years and broken up twice before we was married. He admitted  to me back then when we broke u the 1st time he had sex with a woman which was 9 years ago.The 2ND time we broke up I admitted back then  I messed around with a guy while we was broken up which was 5 years ago but he say he didn't do anything with a woman the 2nd time. My question is should I believe he didn't cheat recently and give me this terrible virus?or should I believe that he had it all these years and I'm just now catching? Or I could of had it from when I messed around and just now getting an outbreak? Im coming to terms that I have this but I'm still lost and need answers on how I got it.

Have a blood test igg type specific and if the numbers are high for hsv2 like way above 5 you could infer its quite old. Have your husband take the blood test as well and if he is negative, youll have the answer if your husband gave it to you.

There are several possibilities to this scenario. You could have caught it when you were with the other man and have had it all this time. Herpes can definitely lay dormant that long. Not uncommon. Your husband also could have it and be asymptomatic and passed it to you. I can't say when because it could have been years ago or a week ago. Either way, I doubt he cheated. It's possible, but it seems unlikely from your post. He should definitely be tested either way.
