Hello Nickisbird - HSV can only be transmitted in two ways: through the mucous membranes (mouth, genitals, etc.) or through a portal (cut, wound, tear, abrasion) in the skin of the uninfected partner. If you're sure you didn't have a portal in your hand, you're probably okay. However, I'd recommend you and your boyfriend get tested, together, for everything, to make sure you're both aware of what each of you brings to the relationship. Lots of other bugs to catch besides HSV! Make sure to ask for an HSV test specifically, because it's not included in the standard STD testing panel.
Hi, touching him then touching youself is no risk and developing herpes on your hand from touching him is only really possible in theroy not in reality as the skin on the hand is too thick.
Thats a common question i get after someone has an affair and i really dont like to give that type of advise. All i can say is what i wrote but will add that bumps other than herpes could be HPV warts which could be past to the hand from touching contact. Im not trying to make a mountain out of mole hill but just sharing exposure fact.
I wouldn't worry until there was something to be worried about. Get tested right now, then get tested again in 4 months, with an IgG type-specific blood test, and you'll have a better picture.
