Help me understand

I have lesions on my private area I took a blood test and it came back negative but I was in the gray area 4 simplex one I was told the next test was a culture I have not got the results back yet I must admit I do have several signs of this but I am hoping and praying that I don't have the virus I want to know how can the blood test come back negative in the doctor believe the

Let's start from the beginning...

What sexual activity did you have in the week leading into the lesions appearing.

Where exactly did the lesions then appear and what did they look like and how are they progressing?

Have you ever had oral cold sores?

It is unusual for your doctor not to swab first and then consider a blood test. This is because you have to catch the virus while present in a fresh sore and antibodies to viruses can take weeks to appear in blood.
