Was I contagious...ok HIGHLY contagious???

I was diagnosed recently with hsv2 thru bloodwork.I have been to dr. several times over last 3 months with bacteria/yeast infections. Went for recheck and pointed out small tear that burned.( but was using boric acid for yeast daily that also burns). He swabbed and got neg result. Bloodwork was positive, however. Was I contagious during the time I was having infectons? Would he not have seen sores in me if were internal? My outbreak has only consisted of swelling, burning and that one minor cut that is now gone but burning persists.I am concerned for my husband, he has no symptoms. Could someone please help me with this???

let's keep it all in this post. I'm going to remove your boric acid question to keep it simple.

I don't recommend continuing to use boric acid if this is herpes going on. boric acid is very irritating and you don't want to irritate herpes lesions more.  call your doc for a prescription for oral diflucan to treat your yeast instead.

I was told that I was hsv1 positive at first then a nurse said twice that i was hsv negative! My symptoms are more consistant with hsv1 as far as being so mild and no lesions. Only symptoms are redness, burning and occasional discharge. Never a lesion, sore and only the one cut in the beginning( about a month ago). Can you enlighten me on this...I am very frustrated with the different info i am getting from dr office. Only today did i get my numbers. I am on my 3rd round of 3 day valtrex regime. Have had symptom for little over 3 weeks. Thank you so much for your help.

You are hsv1+
You are also hsv2+ but it's a low positive which can be a false positive.

At this point, start simple and get hubby tested for herpes too with the blood test. if he's also hsv2+, odds are you really do have hsv2. If he's negative, a herpes wb blood test is the best next course of action for you to confirm your status since you haven't had a + lesion culture yet.

My numbers were hsv1-1.68 and hsv2-3.34. What do these numbers mean?

can you call and get your blood test results to post here for me? all I need are the actual numeric results - ie hsv1 igg 7.7 and hsv2 igg 5. 4 or whatever they are. I can better help you once I see them.
