Scared about hsv2 contraction

Okay about a month or so ago now I made a terrible mistake. I have been in a long distance relationship for 3 years but in early January I had a sexual encounter with a prostitute. This was the first screw up I've had and my significant other has been tested once a year since we have been together and has been clean. About two weeks after the encounter with the prostitute I had a burning sensation upon urination. Didn't think much of it I just figured it was a uti and it'd go away within a day or so. A couple days later I still had the burn so I went to a clinic and was prescribed zithromax although the doctor did not diagnose me with anything. Because this was not my primary doctor I set up an appointment to meet with my real one. He tested me for gonorrhea and chlamydia at this point and put me on doxycycline because I told him I felt the urge to urinate all the time and that my bladder felt full, and he thought it might be prostatitis. Both the gonorrhea and chlamydia tests came back negative. I was on doxycycline for ten days but I still feel as though I have to urinate all the time and that there is something inside the urethra. At this point I made an appointment with a urologist, he has tested me for syphilis, HIV, and herpes two bc I already get cold sores so he said testing for herpes one would be pointless. These tests were done at just over a month after my encounter. I have no gotten the results back yet but I have so nervous and scared I have contracted herpes. My symptoms now include feeling need to urinate, slight burning prior to and after burning, painful ejaculations, and a feeling there is something in the urethra. I guess my questions are how likely am I to have contracted herpes two? I did have protection during sex but I did receive unprotected oral. My results are going to take two weeks and I have been reading forums non stop trying to figure this all out. I am very nervous and scared. What are your thoughts?

It is highly unlikely to be herpes.

An unprotected oral encounter may place a HSV free person of risk of a genital infection from a oral HSV1 partner. This is very rare and near impossible for a male with a long term oral HSV1 infection themselves.

HSV2 is a possibility with a an infected partner, but a protected encounter would not result in a primary outbreak inside the urethra. What you describe has been going on too long to consider herpes as a viable cause.

What you describe with the feeling in the urethra is very often stress related from a tightening of muscles in the pelvic region. Doctors will often talk about prostatitis with these sorts of conditions.

Yes the doctor already discussed prostatitis with me. That was why he put me on doxycycline but wen I went to the urologist he had me checked for that as well and said my prostate was fine. I have had no lesions or sore in the genital area. I've read up on all the symptoms of herpes and I feel like a lot of people get sores especially if it's a new case. But also burning and frequency are symptoms. I would also like to ask why I have a burn upon ejaculating? Stress related maybe? Or maybe this is all stress related and i am scarring myself more than need me?

Much (all?) of what you describe could be attributed to prostatitis - especially the burning. Maybe you need a stronger anti-biotic or longer dosage regimen.

I have been examined for prostatitis two times Already and that has been ruled out. The only thing I'm waiting for right now are the blood tests for HIV syphillis and herpes 2.
What are the chances I contracted herpes with protection?
As far as the burning upon ejaculation really confuses me bc I've heard it isn't a symptom of herpes 2. But ones such as burning urination and the frequency or needing to go are. Also the opening of my penis is sensitive. Are these at all related to herpes or can a guilt trip or anxiety cause me to be focusing all my energy in that region which is causing these problems?
Thanks

Hi, protected vaginal and unprotected oral is not any risk for HIV. The oral would be a risk if she gave you a "deep throat" oral as the bacterias would be in the back of her throat by her tonsils in the mucus membranes. Without this, there would be a risk for a UTI from mouth bacteria.
First time herpes outbreaks from the oral would be at point of contact which is the penis shaft not inside your urethra.
Same with the protected vaginal, it would be on the pubic mound area where the condom was not protection. If  your pubic mound area did not come into contact with hers, then you would not have been exposed at all.

If you have having burning before and after urinating in your urethra with out a discharge, it could be origination from another area like your prostate and feel its coming from your urethra. The prostate if enlarged pushes up against the urethra causing issues that could be interpreted as a burning sensation.

My prostate is not inflamed according to the urologist who examined it. Also my main concern here is hsv2. According to some sites burning urination and a tingling at the opening suggest being symptoms of hsv2. But what about the burning during ejaculation?? Does that happen with a herpes infection? How often are sores not present in cases of hsv2? Is this just all in my head?

I dont like to say things are in the head but very well could be from constant touching and checking. Happens all the time and i myself have done this. First time hsv2 outbreaks would not be inside your urethra but if youve had hsv2 genital before then you could have a recurrent out break there but urethra herpes is not very common even in  the worst case senereous.
Hsv2 oral is not common to begin with and if she did not have any lip sore at the time you could pretty much rule this out and again it would not be inside your urethra but on your shaft..
if you think you have something in your uretha have a doc insert a scope to take a peek.

If you contracted a uti from the oral, maybe there is a sore spot inside thats trying to heal and masturbation and constant checking would prevent it from healing
Do you have hemorrhoids?

I don't believe I have hemmoroids. And I am pretty certain I haven't had hsv2 before although I am not 100% sure. My tests will be back in two weeks so I'll know for sure whether it is herpes or not. But this waiting in the meantime is killing me and I feel so terrible for what I've done.

Do the math. No lip sore at the time, hsv2 is not common oral and urethra inside issue and in general oral is a low risk activity, they all add up to pretty slim chances you contracted from a one time encounter. I say close to zero from what you describe.

Thanks for the input I appreciate it. I'm just very concerned and scared I've never had issues like this before

Hello again caught myself cruising through the internet and I found out the hsv 2 can cause painful ejaculations. Also I have figured out that other things such as urethritis can too but that can be cured with doxycycline and I've already taken that antibiotic. I am now assuming hsv2 is the case here. Any thoughts?

If you had a herpes sore in your urethra you would not be sitting in a chair crusizing the internet, youd be in sever pain seeking relief. I read where one person described it as the worst pain he ever felt!!!

Thanks a lot for the input I'd like to ask a couple more questions.
I'm afraid I didn't tell all my symptoms at the beginning of this post so here goes
I've had burning urination, burning penis tip, on a few occasions burning ejaculations, groin pain, there is a redness on the underside of my penis from the tip to the bottom of the glans, it's been there more or less for about 7 weeks but sometimes it isn't noticeable. The burning urination is off and on and the burning tip gets more intense on some days than on others, but two docs have said it doesn't look like herpes lesions. Also random discharge as well that is clear like pre ejaculate is. I felt sick and had a low grade revel at the beginning of all of this. These symptoms go almost perfectly in Line with hsv 2 however I had a neg result for hsv 2 at 6 weeks post exposure at a 0.06. No bacteria was found in my urine and I've tested neg for all other stds so understandably herpes is really the only viable cause. It's now close to 9 weeks exposure and I still have these symptoms as they've never really subsided for the past 7 weeks or so. Like I said before the timeline is too coincidental not to be herpes but only another blood test at 12-16 weeks will be conclusive.
I am begging for some input as I'm am scared to all hell about this and I am hoping I've just acquired a fungus or something else that's causing all this to happen but I'm not too optimistic about that. Thanks for the support

These symptoms are not perfectly aligned with HSV2 at all. There is nothing that points to herpes being anywhere near the top of the list.

If anything, it sounds bacterial, maybe one that isn't killed readily. There are micoplasma bacteria that are very hard to detect. You could talk to the doctor about this.

Another strong possibility is that you have stress induced issues of the prostate/pelvis floor. A finger up the rear doesn't identify this! Look up a condition known as prostadynia and you'll see many men with the same condition. Although the reasons why they get these symptoms are varied and often unknown, the symptoms are the same and unrelated to herpes.

Thanks for the input fleetwood! I did look up the symptoms of prostdyria and i can see where youre coming from. On the other hand its only burned a few times upon ejaculation in my case. I understand these symptoms could be anything but wouldnt urine samples show bacteria?? Also what about the burning penis? That goes in line to be herpes along with burning off and on with urination before and after going. Im actually goin on vacation today for a week to hopefully clear my head and get my mind off this whole thing but my gut says herpes. I really do appreciate the input and id love for you to keep helping me through this. I know only a blood test is going to give me a true answer. Another thing i guess id like to know is why you dont think this is possibly herpes related?? Thanks

With the protected vaginal would not cause any interior penis irritations, urges to urinate or tip burning. Herpes from this would be on your pubic mound area not inside your urethra. So lets put this to the side.
Unprotected oral is really low risk std,s and if she did not give your a "deep throat" oral you can pretty much rule out std,s like Gono and chlamydia which are the ones at risk. They are not in the front of her mouth.
Ive seem some posters here who did get a urethra infection called NSU or a UTI which are the same thing and is caused by mouth bacteria not std.s These are a little tricky to diagnose and clear up as they dont know what the mouth bacteria are to properly treat but even with this you would have a white puss urethra discharge and burning while urinating.

THis leads us to herpes. Again this is low risk and if she did not have a lip sore you can pretty much rule this out and also if you did contract it the sore would be on the penis shaft not inside.

If your constantly checking your penis tip your causing tip irritations yourself. Prostatitus is a possiblity.

What i am concerned about is the random discharge and the redness below my penis tip that burns and is irritated. Off and on burning urination and a few painful ejaculations. Two docs said the redness wasnt herpes lesions so they did not swab. I havent had a doc swab my urethra either but the urine tests have been clean. Bacteria is probably ruled out here bc of those negative urine tests. A negative test for hsv 2 at 0.06 would have alot of upgrading to do to become positive is that correct? 7 weeks of basically constant symptoms listed above plus some occasional headaches and i had a fever early on in this process. That says herpes but the blood doesnt

Having continous redness with no sore developing would not be herpes related. also the area would be on the shaft not the tip.

Infection discharges would be white not clear. Our penis has mucus inside and constant milking would produce it and also cause tip irrtation.

Discharge? Why does that even occur with herpes? With a sore inside? Idk what else to think i mean at one point i was stoked about the negative result but now i cant get passed the pos igm and still with these symptoms.. Everywhere ive read insists this is herpes

Igm is not a valid test. You mentioned the discharge not me. This would be in regards to other std,s causing your symptoms.

Yes sorry i did i was asking discharge as in like what about the discharge and my igg was neg thats what i was stoked about. The igm was pos though which scares me bc i already have hsv 1. Igm is either a new infection or a recurrent and with it being done at 6 weeks, if it was hsv 2 the igm would not be pos bc i lt goes away a couple weeks after possible exposure and wouldnt stick around for 6 weeks, if i understand it correctly? Not sure if im correct.

Once its tests positive its for life and dosent go away. Have the igG if your concerned about herpes.
