Possible outbreak??

Hi Doctor –

A few months ago I started to feel this weird, slight burning in the tip of my penis.  I have great anxiety and believe that I may just been way overfocusing on something but nonetheless, it lasted about 2 days.  During this time, I saw no blisters, I looked v closely inside my urethra (as far as I could see) and it did not hurt during urination or ejaculation.  I was so freaked out by this that I poured water down my urethra (prob a v bad idea).  I went away.  Then about 4-5 days later, I began to feel the same feeling, I suppose you could say felt like icy-hot was on tip, still no pain during urination etc.  Does this sound like it could be a herpes outbreak?  I know its weird that I felt it for 2 days and then nothing and then again and still saw no blisters or abnormal redness or discharge or anything.  Thanks for your help!

Yes indeed pouring water down into your urethra is never a good idea. You just risk introducing bacteria into the urogenital tract and causing yourself even worse issues.

This doesn't sound like herpes going on.  Have you been seen and had any testing done?

Hello,

Outbreaks are not the only symptoms of “Genital herpes” (HSV2).  Sadly this is why this disease goes unnoticed!  Some experience redness, numbness, itching, and a burning sensation during urination.

Nonetheless you should have yourself examined!

I felt it these two times and then once I stopped dwelling on every little sensation I felt, it kinda just went away and this was over 4 months ago

Thanks, cause I have read that if you feel the burning/tingling you would then get an actual outbreak of sores...at least thats what I believe I have read on here before?

This is not the doctor forum. But, I'd go see a doc. Doesn't sound like herpes, but could be another STD.
