Transmission Facts

I am looking for information and transmission facts and statistics relating to partners who both have HSV-1 orally and one has HSV-2 genitally. Although I know that the chances of spreading HSV-1 to eithers genitals is extremely low, is there any numbers out there on this? Also on the transmission of HSV-2 to the mouth of someone who already has HSV-1?  Thanks in advance.

Hsv1 doesn't provide any significant protection against contracting hsv2.

Having hsv1 orally gives you significant protection against contracting it genitally. Not 100% but pretty close.

Hsv2 does provide significant protection against contracting hsv1 but we don't have stats as to how much due to limited studies on it.

You can have hsv2 orally even if you have hsv1 orally but in general, the risk of hsv2 orally is low.

The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com has terrific info on how to reduce the risk of transmission to a partner.

I gave someone oral sex and then we had sex right after. A day later the corner of my mouth became sore and irritated. I am not sure whether it is herpes or not, but if it is is it possible that the virus would turn into genital herpes?

If you aren't sure what is going on, go and be seen and get this looked at.
