check out the herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com. It's free to read online or print out at home. It has all the info you need.
Once you know your status and your partner's status, you can better make educated decisions about what precautions to take together. Until you know who has what though, you can't.

So can you give me best/worse case senerios?
First thing you need to do then is get a type specific herpes igg blood test to see if you have hsv1, hsv2 or both. You can't make educated decisions about how to protect a partner until you know which type(s) you have.
Your partner also needs tested too.

Hi Grace, I'm female, not sure if it's hsv1 or 2 yes genitally. Diagnosed over 15 yrs ago, don't remember if they told me what one. He never said if he's been tested.
do you have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally? has your man been tested to know his own status? are you male or female? your gender is listed as male but you chose a female name so I just felt I should ask.

I really hopes someone will answer you, I have a very similar question.
