Two month vaginal problem

Hello, new here and am scared sick.
Here are my sympoms:
Went to dentist to recieve gingevectomy. Got 8 doses of local arestin antibiotic (placed under my gums) came home and started itching around my pelvis (new feeling). Had intercourse with my fiance (didnt hurt) and itched shortly after (vaginal lips). Next day woak up with my entire pelvis/vaginal area swollen & red & itchy beyond relief. It has been approx 8 weeks since then and my lips r still red and itchy/burning. Got the "normal" std check (everything neg) gave me 7day cream for yeast. No relief. Went to a family planning clinic doc says "looks like u have genital herpes" and hands me persc for aclovair. (Ive never had a prob with my vajay so since day 1 i was inspecting thuroughly n saw nothing but one red bump that ive always had that to this day has never changed on the inside of my vajay towards the bottom) but waaay bottom to where i have to pull my vag lip n open myself up to see it.

Well anyways... cried my eyes out day on day, but those pills never helped. Still red, still burning, & still irritated like a bad razor burn. Just on my lips. What he said he saw was a leison where my red bump was. So back to my reg dr who says this doesnt look like herpes... no blisters no ulcerations. She treated me for yeast inf again cuz she says the walls of my vagina have a cottage cheese like coating on them. Perscribed same 7 day yeast treatment & a pill. Just finished the cream 4 days ago n took the pill three days ago. Still feel the same. Is this herpes of the genitals? Why hasnt any blisters or canker looking cuts shown up. All i have is burning/itching to my reddened vag lips. Tender to touch. If i did indeed have a leison inside my vagina, would my vag lips be doing this? Dr says nothing is on lips. Im so mortified. I have two young childred and am affraid

I'd follow up with your gyn at this point. get retested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too.

The best way to be certain that this isn't an HSV issue is to have your partner tested, as well. That said, HSV isn't a likely culprit with problems that are ongoing -- discrete outbreaks are the hallmark of the infection.

Just another question...
Since my - on the hsv 2 test was done @ 65days after problems... is it possible i tested too early? My vaginal lips still feel itchy and irritated. Not nearly as much, but enough to remind me thruought my day that something is still wrong.
& now lately ive had alot of right lower back pressure. Right above my butt. Have you heard of someone having genital herpes with itching and burning without blisters or leisons?

Fiance and i have since started to try for our last baby :) im just worried that mabye i do have the virus and it will somehow affect my pregnancy or my daily life with my children.

Im always irritated and have this whole body soreness and its hard to be the same playing with my children.

I thank you ten fold for all your advise, oppinions and time. I really really appreciate it

your hsv2 is negative. I wouldn't even bother with more testing for hsv2 at this point. continue to be seen when you have symptoms by your gyn.

Also i knew i had hsv1 ive had a few cold sores since i was a child. Havnt had any in years tho.

Got my results

+ for hsv1 orally with wht the nurse said was a 5.0
- for hsv2 genitaly at a .1 or a .11 not to sure what she said and said id have to see a dr to discuss myresults

If it is a .11 can this mean its on the rise to a positive? I tested at 65 days after symtoms started. As ive heard the low positive is like a 1.1

We have two children already. 7 and 3. We just were planning our last and this all started. I feel like my womanhood has been taken away.. im affraid of my own vagina (even in the shower) i wear sweatpants or long gym pants daily. I look rather like a slob now. I feel as if i let my children down.

the WB is easy to get in california actually. many providers offer it routinely and those who don't, how to get one is listed in our read before posting post on the forum.

the immunoblot has the same false positive issue as the elisa based igg herpeselect does which is why it needs confirmatory testing.

be rather assertive with your partner about why this is important. even if you are negative, if you plan to start a family at any point, knowing his status is extremely important too.

Grace, my partner (fiance) and i have been togethet 7 years. He refuses to get tested because he says theres no need and hes fine. He thinks im overreacting rite now as it is. Im a woman, i kno when something is wrong with my lady parts.

Are the immoblots accurate?

Can a primary outbreak of hsv2 be only itching & burning and nor sores or blisters. - thats wht i dont understand y ive been so uncomfortable for so long.

their lab probably uses the immunoblot herpeselect test if it only reports with a + or - .  your partner should be tested too to know their status.  

if you get a + on the igg test , it will need confirmed with further testing. a lesion culture that is + on active symptoms confirms status or a herpes WB blood test 4 months after the last time you had sex prior to symptoms. if your partner tests negative, you can seek out the WB at any time since you know then it would've been an infection acquired prior to this partner you need to confirm.

Just a update to add:

Visited planned parenthood yesterday. Did my blood test and will call in a week for the results. I mentioned that i wanted the igg type test and she said yes, thats the one they do. (Herpeselect) but said she does not recieve the numerical ratio end. Only a + or -

After the blood draw i saw the dr who did a pelvic and said the bumps i have were a normal part of my vagina and i look like i have a healthy vagina. She was very sweet and answered all my questions. And i told her how i have all the burning and itching of my vag lips that havnt stopped. Sometimes its less calm. But nontheless its still there. I feel like im chafed at times, and at others i itch.

you'd have to ask him why you are being treated for bv if you didn't show any signs of it.

Also e.r doctor gave me treatment for bacterial vaginosis and sent me away. But he did say he couldnt find any infection or anything. So y did he give me the perscription? Im sure this is herpes if nobody can find anything. Bloodwork on monday and ill post my results during the week to keep you informed grace. Thank you so much♥

Went to the er yesterday. Dr says all my blood work and cultures came out ok. But says what i have doesnt look like herpes. Perscribed me flagyl. Also said they couldnt  do a blood test there to detect herpes.

no, treating for yeast wouldn't be prolonging herpes healing at this point.

hubby also needs tested for herpes to know his status, especially if you are going to try to have a baby soon.  

follow up on your symptoms regularly to try to get better answers.

Grace thank you. I have a test on this coming monday for blood work at a local plannedparenthood. But it has only been 65 days since since my onset of vaginal problems. Too early to detect if they come back neg? I cant stop worrying. It has taken a complete toll on my way of living. All this in the middle of a healthy relationship? Hubby shows no signs. We always use protection because i just like it better. What hurts me the most is we werw going to try for a baby in july... can we still try or should we wait.

at this point follow up regularly with your gyn.  even if you do have genital herpes, it wouldn't cause symptoms like this for this long.  

you and your partner can both seek out type specific herpes igg blood tests to see who has what for starters at this point to cover the herpes testing bases.
