Yeast Infection Problem

Hi, I am hoping someone can tell me I'll be ok because I feel like my life is gone.  I have 3 children ranging 10 to 19, I'm never a chronic YI person but for the past few months I belive in July I thought I had a yeast infection so I went to CVS got monastat 1 used it and I thought that was it because I've used it before and it worked however this time I thought it would be ok until one day I went to pee and it burnt so bad like broken skin right by the opening eventualy my husband took a picture and there it is, a round broken skin.  The problem is I never had white discharge no itching no symptw of YI until I had a flare up about a month ago where my entire vagina looks like lava from top to bottom all the way to my anus, I went to my GYN waited 41/2 hours she said my vagina looks like someone sandpaper my vagina oh gosh the burn stinging anyways she gave me an oral 3 day fluconazole and acyclovir ointment I used it went to see her its still there so she gave me a 7 day terconazole cream with applicator I used that as directed I eat live yogurt sugar fre greek I take an acidophilus every day but the raw red ulcer like vagina is still there I haven't had sex in months and my husband is going crazy can someone givebany suggestions im thinking boric acid but afraid of that broken skin in my vagina I'm frausted.  Btw I am and always been very very clean I've been marriedbfor 20 years was a virgin hebis a good husband please give me some advise I have no health problems except I'm taking synthroid for thyroid.  I'm thinking of getting monistat 3 or boric acid. Thanks in advance

They do a swab culture which is DNA based and is good test for diagnosing topical skin issues.

What is a PCR test? Never heard of it I'm dumb when it comes to this stuff lol

No i have not but having a PCR test would be something to consider as you need to find out what this is.

Thanks for your response,  my gyn did a culture for herpes it came back negative.  Have you heard of boric acid capsules?  I'm a healthy eater I exercise :(( This us been going on for about 6 months

Hi, what you need to do first is eliminate any herpes issues if thats what your concerned about. Best to have a swab of the area and some cultures done and a PCR test to determine what the infection is and a blood test. But from what your describing does appear more fungal related than a herpes outbreak.
With someone with long term herpes irritations would be only on one side not all over the place.
