can i be tested for herpies whe i not boke uot

o i got tested a year ago by the health dept as uaving herpies. but did not tell me what kind . I broke out in the virgina area perticularly the outside intrance to the virginia. I have had no symptoms of herpies in a year. Could i been misdiagnosed? Is there a test I can take that will tell me whether I have herpies or not and what kind that is accurate?
I find it strange that i had the initual outbreak but none sense.

You certainly need to have more testing done.  At this point you can call about the blood test results to see what they are but if it was a newly acquired infection, you'd just have to repeat them anyways.

Follow up on this with your regular provider if you have one.  you need to find out if you have genital herpes as well as if it's hsv1 or hsv2.

the herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is a free and up to date resource to learn more at.

What testing did you have done initially?

You may want to try labcorp for the herpes type specific igg.  The most accurate one is western blot but the money spent is up to you.
