confused

Hello first I wanted to say thank you for taking the time out of your day to answer these questions. I'm a 22 year old circumsized male who has had an ongoing rash for about a year. The rash is on the tip of my penis and is kind of spread out around the head of the penis. The rash starts out with peeling skin with red skin underneath it. The rash does not sting itch or hurt its just red with dry skin there is no blisters but little pinsize head dots or cuts I can't really tell because they are so small. Usually I only get the rash in the summer but I have it right now and I'm also sick with the flu. The reason I think it might be herpes is because I also have two cold sores right now on my lips and I know I had a breakout because my immune system is low thats why I think it could be herpes. I thought it could of been a heat rash but that wouldnt make sense if I had one in the winter time. So here is my questions Whenever I get a cold sore they never look the same some time there are big blisters sometimes they are small. When I have the rash on my penis it looks and acts the same each time dry red skin. So do you think it could be herpes or maybe something else like psoriasis or dermatitis thank you.

Yea I went to the doctor and he said it just looked like irratation. I'm just concerned because the same time I broke out with a cold sore I broke at with this rash or whatever it is. Do genital herpes outbreaks always look the same because when I have cold sores they look different each time some outbreaks are worse then others, but when I break out with this rash its the same thing everytime. I this point I am just confused what this could be.

At this point the best thing to do is to go and be seen. this doesn't sound like herpes but obviously something is going on.
