can you pass herpes in this scenario..

i was wondering my friend has herpes and he had a cut on his finger , i had a pimple on my face and he touched it with his finger..he didnt have an open cut but his nail was cut real low and he said that it was hurting, like you know when you cut your nail too low and it hurts cause its cut more than what it should have and it makes your skin burn by where your nail is at..  his skin touched my pimple on my face but not directly with his nail, only with his finger ,(where his skin was not at all broken) ,he still touched it with his skin and my pimple was open and the pimple  had a bit of blood on it. can he pass herpes like this to me. i think he has hsv2 the one that is on the genital area. and actually im not even sure if he has it or not...hes still in the process of getting checked.

herpes is not a blood borne infection.  being in contact with his blood or an open wound on his finger isn't a risk for contracting his genital herpes infection.

You aren't likely to get it.  Herpes doesn't live long on fingers.  This would only be of concern if he had Herpes Whitlow.  Having it in the genital region makes it no risk.

No, herpes cannot be passed this way. If he were to scratch his genitals during a breakout, and then use his dirty fingers to pop the pimple, it may cause a breakout on the phase...but this is unlikely. You should be completely fine.
