herpes skin rash

theres is a herpes skin rash you can get on your arms,legs n what not....i just been diagnosed with anal herpes...my friend has had a rash on his body for a long time.could it be herpes?the question is.....if i was scratching where his rash was and then i scrated my butt hole could i of possible got herpes that way??i couldnt of gotten it from sex i haventhad anal sex in 7 yrs.n i just had an outbreak...or could i of contracted the virus 7 yrs ago n just now have a attack?

sex is the way genital herpes is transmitted.  

definitely you and your partner need igg blood tests to see who has what.

i was diagnosed by looks from 3 different doctors...they did blood work but havent gotten the results yet...well the herpes is ll over my butthole only nowhere else.n i havent had anal sex...no my partner hasnt been tested i didnt tell him....i am askin can it be transfered by touch and not by sexual contact.i just dont belive ive gotten this by sex

how were you diagnosed with anal herpes?  do you have hsv1 or hsv2?  also just as a fyi - anal herpes is still genital herpes.  it has nothing to do with if you are having anal sex or not - you can get symptoms anywhere in the entire boxer short area as we call it.  

has your partner been tested for herpes yet?

no, hsv won't show up all over the body like you've described in your friend.  they need to see a doctor and find out what is going on.
