sex is the way genital herpes is transmitted.
definitely you and your partner need igg blood tests to see who has what.

i was diagnosed by looks from 3 different doctors...they did blood work but havent gotten the results yet...well the herpes is ll over my butthole only nowhere else.n i havent had anal sex...no my partner hasnt been tested i didnt tell him....i am askin can it be transfered by touch and not by sexual contact.i just dont belive ive gotten this by sex
how were you diagnosed with anal herpes? do you have hsv1 or hsv2? also just as a fyi - anal herpes is still genital herpes. it has nothing to do with if you are having anal sex or not - you can get symptoms anywhere in the entire boxer short area as we call it.
has your partner been tested for herpes yet?
no, hsv won't show up all over the body like you've described in your friend. they need to see a doctor and find out what is going on.
