I have a question regarding the recurrence of Herpes and the likelihood of actually having it. I had protected sex (condom) during January (23rd) and I hit the sack three times in the night. One time the condom made a sound so it's possible it did break, but I wasn't sure.
A few weeks, maybe 2, i have minor itches near the region because of my insecurity that the condom broke; could the itching have been a psychological thing? the itching wasn't very severe nor did I need to scratch for a long time. I could in fact ignore it and it would generally go away. No open sores or blisters etc etc.
Skip forward 5 weeks to a total of 7, I develop a cough but no sore throat. Normally, symptoms appear 2-20 days after exposure and sometimes no symptoms appear at all -- thus contributing to the spread of herpes because of the unknown nature that people carry the virus. However, due to the cough, I end up getting a chronic headache -- re aggravated every time i cough. The phlegm is white/clear most of the time and yellow/green when i wake up as well as an hour after.
On the eighth week, I see two pimples on my butt. It looks like either a sweat pimple or a pearly white indicative of herpes. However, i popped it but it hasn't developed into an open sore and I'm not sure if it will. I wake up the next day to see nothing. However, as I get home to check on it again, I see another one -- not as pus-filled or pearly white as the first, but mildly irritated when i touch it. The other one doesn't hurt at all but it is kind of red and they are somewhat close to each other. Should I be worried? This is the 8th week. Would a recurrence come this quick?
As for the headaches, they are piercing and horrible especially when I have an uncontrollable cough. Additionally, it is isolated to the right side of my brain and when it does hurt, it is in the orbital area around my eye. I have shaken my head forward and backward to incite pain but otherwise walking/sitting/general movement does not aggravate the headache -- usually only the cough.
Also, I was wondering whether or not these symptoms -- although I know they could belong to a common cold -- could be indicative of HIV as well. If you need me to clarify on any measure or ask for more specific information to help, please don't hesitate to ask.
