Hi, Terri asked me to let her know my test results from this discussion:

I got tested a few days ago, which was 3 months after stopping the meds. The new result for type 2 was igG 0.90, negative. Not sure which test it was but she said it had to be greater than 1.90 to be positive. The previous tests were .05 .05 .04, and now .90. Not sure what to make out of this. This last test was about 11 months since symptoms. Nothing has changed, still have burning sensation in my thighs but no breakouts or anything visual. I have always had type 1 oral. i am seeing someone and we want to have "protected" sex, but i worry that because of this sensation in my thighs, i'm at higher risk of transmitting. also wonder if this higher result, albeit still well below positive, might mean that it's just taking me longer to develop antibodies (but then wouldn't i get an outbreak??), and if i should stay off the meds and retest again in a month or two or three? i also asked my doctor for a prescription for a 3x daily Valcyclovir for 30 days thinking maybe that would maybe help with the "nuerolgia" like sensations. haven't started taking them as i wanted to consult you first. and/or if i should take a western blot? ugh, very frustrating. i kind of feel like i should know what i'm dealing with before we have sex and don't want to put her at higher risk if this is something I can "wait out", not too mention it would be a great relief to get rid of this sensation in my thighs. my dr. is sort of at a loss really, and i don't know that i blame him. any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks very much.
