Can I take Estrogen in any form

Hello,
I am now 44 and I had my uterus removed in 2010 for Fibroid tumors and soft ball size cyst on my left ovary, 2011 another large cyst came back on my left ovary and had it removed, 2013 another cyst on my left ovary removed, 2014 another cyst grew, so I had both of my ovaries removed. When the doctor went in they found endometriosis wrapped around part of my bowel and all through out my abdominal cavity. All of it removed. But of course I went into menopause immediately. I didn't want to take synthetic HRT, so I opted for BHRT instead. It didn't seem to work, so my doctor upped my dose a little, then I started having stomach pains again and the same symptoms of what felt like the endo coming back. Didn't know if it could be scar tissue from so many surgeries or if its the endo. So I stopped everything. After some research I saw that endo can actually come back if they didn't get all of it out and that estrogen of any kind can cause it to grow again. I am frustrated on where to go from here, Hot flashes, night sweats, painful sex, I feel like a different person! I just want to feel normal again. Does anyone know what I can take since I have had a history of endo?

you can take hrt but if you did not have an endometriosis specialist do your surgery you most likely still have endometriosis ~ I did! I would suggest you come on over to the endometriosis board...

If you want/need more guidance send me a private message and I will give you some more resources to help you figure this out...
HRT is critical to every cell in our body! We need it even with endometriosis the benefits outweigh the risks...I also think you most likely did not have a high enough dose on the bio-identical hrt...so send me a pm let's chat more! It can get better!

Some doctors are much better at surgery for endo than others.  You might seek a second opinion, and go onto the hormones, and if you begin having endometriosis style pains, see the new doctor.  I wouldn't give up on estrogen without trying everything to stay on it.
