You usually get diarrhea about 10 times  a day, often bloody,  and /or  cramps, abdominal pain and high fever.  You can get it in a variety of ways. Some common ways are undercooked chicken or unpasteurized milk. Also, fecal oral person to personal sexual contact, and contaminated water. Sometimes pets especially puppies or young animals that have disease. You would have to be tested as stated nicely above. It is a stool test.

You can Google it, but you can't self-diagnose it.  If you have any real reason to think you have it you have to see the proper specialist who can run the tests for it.  Like any food-borne disease, it comes with severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.  If you think you have it, you have to stay hydrated and you have to see your doctor ASAP.  Eat any undercooked animal products lately?
