Mrsa treatment causing bowel problems (antibiotics)

Ok. I have been on and off antibiotics for mrsa for the last 2 months. Mostly Bactrim. Problem is the mrsa keeps returning. I have had 2 negative nare and armpit swaps. But they say it's still mrsa and the infection keeps coming back. Anyways. I continue decolonization and abx treatment. But I started to notice my stools getting loose. Then today I went to have the runs and all that came out was a little mucous and blood. Blood was bright red. No stool. Worried about c diff. But I'm not having watery diahreea. Not really even cramping. Just gotta go and it's mostly has and the blood and mucous come out. Just started tonight. Don't really think it would be colitis. No fever, good appetite. But worried these abx are ruining me. MRSA lesions in armpits have been bad enough. Now this? *****.

It does sound like C-Diff. you should go back to your doctor, the earlier you treat C-Diff. the better, I also had MRSA, if you eat yogurt, it will also help you balance out the bactiera in your stomach. Also before you switch to a different antibiotic you should have them reculture your MRSA to see what it is sucesseptable to. There are other meds. like IV clindomiacine, or vancomaycine. I hope your not just taking an oral medication, you should have an ontiment, a specail soap. also stop shaving, and if you are on birth control, it is known to cause more sores. I know your frustrated, but you need to work with your doctor, don't touch any new sore, you should also try replacing some of your things or washing them more frequently. don't be scared to talk with your doctor, tell him how your feeling, any new symptoms you are having and how you are handling the medication. I know for me, I felt tired all the time, dizzy, weak, muscle soreness, and a funny taste in my mouth, I hope this helps. take care
