I'm so sorry you have been through all this. It is terrible. No wonder you have been depressed. Being anemic alone will make you depressed due to the severe fatigue. It is not a mental disorder it is real fatigue that causes the depression. Also, pain causes depression. Then constantly fighting an infection brings you down. You immune system is fatigued. So you will get that part back in order. I'm not sure the nurse can refuse you service for your breast lumps even if you have MRSA. Is this for the mammogram or to go to the hospital to have them removed? Maybe they can for the mammogram I don't know but in the hospital they can put you in isolation. I have worked in the hospital for years. I would report her to maybe a senior person in the hospital. You can try telling the doctor first. Tell them you were refused service by the nurse. MRSA can be hard to get rid of. MRSA doesn't feed off of sugar but it makes it more difficult for you to get rid of it if you have diabetes. If you have a wound they actually can use leaches on the wound for diabetic wounds with MRSA and it works. But it is still reaserchy. As for the antibiotic that makes your leg swell I wonder if you are allergic to it? You may ask about it. You can get a hemoglobin A1C test to check if you are diabetic. You have to be fasting. I can check on other antibiotics if you like.

oh thank you so much for getting back to me. Yes, still very sick . Im allergic to penecillin and sulfa and every antibiotic I try works until I stop taking them then it all flares up within days. Now I am on refempin and Im not healing and feel worse than ever.  My ankles and feet are the size of elephant trunks I cant bend them to get up the stairs Youre right, I am tired of fighting this  started out extremly anemic but had no insurance and therefore missed the fact that i had a large tumor in uterus  They took it out in dec during surgery I had to have 2 blood transfusions Ihave done chemo and 3# rounds of IV iron  they say Im still iron defficent but nolonger anemic. Dr said she felt 2 lumps in my breast but i think/hope shes wrong  when i showed up to mammogram and told them about MRSA i was told to leave and come back when i was clear  And no Im not diabetic but its EXTREMLY interesting that you ask, I have read here that the bacteria feeds of high clucose?? please correct me if Im wrong but in a way one could say the bacteria craves sugar?? so here is a thought<<<when i got sick I had stop working I was on a tv show that is still running on NBC as an actress ...I started with the skin out breaks that never healed and oddly enough out fell my teeth ALL of them in a matter of 6 months ,no pain at all they would simply fall out.Hard to be on camera then lol...anyway back to sugar  I started craving sugar in a way I never have before  I blamed it on situation depression etc  and gained  FIRST time in my life 55 lbs in a year...so my crazy question is this...was that the infection needing sugar to grow stronger??

Hi, we are not doctors on these sites. But I am a microbiologist. I don't know of any connection with depression or a connection of MRSA with the neurological system. It may be that you have been so tired from fighting the infection that it made you get down. Depression happens with pain so it may happen with multiple infections in that some cell signalling may occur. It just isn't well known. Do you still have the infection? That can wear you down and make you feel bad. You immune system is constantly fighting an infection  then it is very tiring. You will get over this. Do you know if you are diabetic?
