Test HIV Combi

Hello, I had a sex encounter with a prostitute and i used protection.  After three months I went to the clinic for hiv combi test and its negative. My preoccupation it's that the results is very near to the Index level, Result 0.22 index level = ≥ 0.25. I need to take the test again?, this result imply any risk of been developing the disease?. I hope you can respond my questions.

Hi there,
A negative test means negative for HIV though your results are near the index level. You may need testing again at 6 months, just to be extra sure. The manifestation of symptoms of HIV and AIDS vary, depending on the phase of infection. Most people may have no symptoms at all. While some people may develop a brief flu-like illness two to six weeks after becoming infected. Consult your health care provider and stop worrying.
