I'm 21. When I lay down and touch my abdomen, it is very tender and there is some pain (nothing severe). It is mostly around my navel, but can be at any part of my abdomen. I also have almost constant low back pain, fatigue, constipation, and bloating.
I went to my GI doctor on Friday and he did a rectal exam and said that my intestinal tract is normal. I've had IBS since I was about 16, and this new GI doctor just put me on 1 tablespoon of Citrucel smart fiber once per day. I also have hyperthyroidism, and I am on 2 pills per day.
I've had these symptoms almost constantly for about 6 weeks. I'm terrified it is ovarian cancer, mostly because I have hyperthyroidism (which I've read increases your risk by 80%) and I'm a DES-exposed granddaughter. I go to my annual OB/GYN check ups, and the last one was in July of this year. None of my doctors seem concerned, and my CBC and thyroid tests are normal (though TSH is a little low). My periods are regular, but sometimes I feel full quickly.
Do I have anything to worry about or is this just IBS? please help, I'm so scared.
I have an appointment with the nurse practitioner at my gynecologist's office on January 3rd just in case. For reference, my next period is due January 4th.
