Can you message me the website? Yes I have serious issues with raw food. It hurts my stomach so much as well as bananas and nuts. It seems that I cant win. I hate food because of this.
PS. Just reading this site, looks great for info - http://****.org/
(Note: I'm from Australia so this is not me plugging anyone I know's websites, all just from research today)
Hi I hear your story on a raw foods level...as a 35yr old vegetarian of now 20yrs, the bloating, cramps, constipation (I think IBS-C) and pain/cramps in lower abdomen have gotten worse over age 30. The last 5yrs have seen my belly grow to the current stage of a 6month pregnant woman when I eat any beans and also recently, raw veggies without any carbs. It wasn't getting so bad until the last year when I've had extremes of eating healthy cooked food (and trying to eat less gluten) to high carb vegie pastries & spicy asian food due to studying, working and limited time. I started a low/no carb diet last month to loose weight and fix the bloat thinking it was the naughty pastries and excess dairy that gave me issues, and lived on mostly salad, nuts, egg and beans (practically vegan with no carbs) but noticed just how bad this issue gets with NO complex carbs in your diet. When I ate cooked vegies with brown rice & soups (except for bean soups) I can't recall getting this bloated. I also thought my bloating/constipation was mainly due to a wheat/yeast intolerance as but the raw foods diet and no carbs made the issue even worse as noted. I've read that acupuncture and cooked foods is helpful rather than raw.
From my research a lot of the issues with the foods everyone has mentioned on the raw veggie foods and stomach pain forum are IBS related. I'm self diagnosing and still in testing phase with my gastroenteroligist, though I'm almost certain this is my issue. It's all about the bile not digesting and insoluble and soluble fibre balance etc. http://www.****.com has answered a lot of my questions but still holes in the theory, I think mainly people have to find the right balance for their bodies. For yourself, I'd continue the elimination diet but maybe try the diet on the website I posted. I'm going to check it out also. Sorry for the long post - have been researching all day as am so frustrated so thought I'd share my story! Anyone else have issues please help too. Good luck, will try acupuncture and let you know if successul. Be careful with your condition seeing you've had so many surgeries (sorry to hear this)
I'm not sure what is going on, but because of all the surgeries you've had done, problems associated with that should be considered. I think the elimination diet that you are doing is a good idea.
