Several days & no BM...


i can go several days (2-4) without any type of bowel movement.  it is not something i can control.  i feel it is not normal.  i can eat junk food or healthy food and it makes no difference.  no matter what i eat, it has to go somewhere!  and i dont regularly exercise so its not as if i burn it off at the gym.  and i am not overweight though either.  for as long as i can remember i have never been "regular" (and by that i mean going at least once a day).
i have been taking fiber supplements recently & trying to load up on high fiber foods and that also seems to make no difference.
should i worry??  what should i do??

I too am in the same situation, have had only 1 or 2 BM's a week for years, tho was not diagnosed with IBS until a few years ago.  Recently this has become more of a problem and i am now trying out Swedish Bitters which is herbal and supposed to releive bloat, flatulence, sluggish bowel and constipation. I  just posted a question to see if anyone else has tried this remedy. Have only taken 2 x and is hard to tell if its helping, tho did have a BM today. Not feeling that great but it may be working on my system and as with some things, get worse bf it gets better.  Is also supposed to rid the system of toxins.
  Am hoping I get some replies so I have something to compare my situation with.

Alot of people do not have a BM everyday. You have had this now "for as long as you can remember"

It is best that you have 1 bowel movement each day however. Seems like you are getting plenty of fiber....are you eating fruits and vegetables? If not it is a good time to add them to your diet. Also some lite excersise is good each day.
