What symptoms are to be expected? Is this something normal during pregnancy?
Hi,
How are you? What are the symptoms present? Asymptomatic dilatation of the renal collecting system is common during pregnancy. It can be attributed to the enlarging uterus and changes in the hormone levels during pregnancy. This can be detected as early as 12 weeks age of gestation or in the second trimester. It is best that you discuss this also with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
Hi there,
There may be mild pelvicalyceal system dilatation in second and third trimester. It is due to pressure on the ureters from the gravid uterus and partly hormonal. It is however better to rule out any obstructive uropathy if there are symptoms suggestive of obstruction. It is suggested to consult your attending doctor for more queries and assistance. Do keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
