Given Macrobid for UTI

I just recently went to the ER for severe pain in my back, stomach, and burning upon urination whenever that was; meaning sometimes I didn't...I'm diabetic but lately I've had 7 uti's just this year alone but this is the first time I've ever been put on Macrobid...usually this drug is given for kidney or bladder infections... I'm always given another drug but the Er Dr asked if I've ever had kidney stones and no I have never before and I've taken this med but this round I'm in extreme pain in my stomach to the point where I can't do anything... Its like I'm having labor pains all over again...Am I trying to pass a kidney stone?
