Is there anything elce.?

Im an 18 year old female. I have been to the docter and the hospital tones of times in the past month. I have been given antibiotics for a UTI 3 different times during this. They keep telling me i have 500 count of white blood cells. it has not gone up or down. They have dont cultures on it and nothing comes out. The last time i was at the docter about 2 days ago they said its not showing but I might have a kidney infection so they gave me more antibiotics for that. If this set of antibiotics dont help then i have to go get tests done on my kidneys. Is there anything elce that could be causing my white blood cell count to be high in my urin.?
Thanks,
abeck4

I have the exact same symptoms. I am so frustrated. My microalbumin level is 106! All my levels were off in my urine. I know I do not have UTI or bladder infection. I knwo the difference in pain.

I went back to the docter yesterday and they are telling me I have to go get tests done on my kidneys because they cant find out the problem but they know there is something wrong and they cant get my WBC in my urin normal. The symptoms i have had are pain in my lower back and left side. also it was to the point where it hurt to breath and stand upright. I havnt had a fever. they even tested me for the swine flu but that came up neg.
Im not sure what they are planning on doing next.
Thanks,

Is the pain in 1 side only?  Where specifically?  Do you have a fever?  Is the WBC count of the blood or urine? (my guess is that it's the urine, if it's 500; a WBC of 500 in the blood is extremely low, as the norm is 5,000-10,000, depending on the lab)

My guess is that you will end up having some time of imaging study such as a Renal Ultrasound (painless; I've had about 10 of them), CT scan, IVP (they put dye in your bloodstream through an IV and take x-ray pictures of your kidney/urinary system), etc.

It very well could be a UTI, such as an abcess in the kidney, or an infected cyst.

Keep us posted.

do u have any symptoms like pain, or uti symptoms? a number of things could cause high wbc like a bit of a viral infection which antibiotics wouldnt help with, stress and general illness. i had a high wbc the other week which they say is normal because i had some sort of seizure. if the antiobiotics arent helping  and the urine didnt show anything then i doubt its a uti. why do they think its ur kidneys?
