Hello and hope you are doing well.
It’s most probable that you may be suffering from a urinary tract infection. The high smelling and the pain all can be attributed to this. The infection can spread upwards to involve the kidneys. Evidence of a stone needs to be ruled out. You need to consult a doctor, who will examine you. He will ask for a urine analysis and a culture of your urine to start you on the appropriate antibiotic. In the meantime consume plenty of oral fluids.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
More likely bladder related because kidney pain tends to be a bit higher up. In between the ribs and the hips. Although an untreated bladder infection can cause kidney infections, and sometimes the pain doesn't present as it normally would.
Go to the Dr. and get a pee test. Some Dr.'s offices do them right there.
In the meantime cranberry pills will make the bladder walls slippery and help clear out the bacteria. Cranberry juice usually contains sugar, so it isn't that great. It also isn't as strong. Cranberry won't help the kidney's though, just the bladder. It is a help not a treatment, but taking some each day will help prevent bladder infections.
