What do you think about this?

I'm 19, and I'm worried that there is something seriously wrong with my kidneys.  Ever since age 15 or so, I've been getting UTIs, about a few times a year I get them but as I get older, it tends to be becoming more frequent, and severe, and often spreads to my kidneys,  I've had to be hospitalized 3 times for this,  and I just dont feel right. Their almost always around the time of my period Ive noticed, and I'm sure that things like sex, not wiping properly ect are not the cause because I've been very dilligent in taking care of myself and searching for causes since the first infection. I also have many other weird symptoms that have increasingly with time, become worse. I feel like a grandma because I'm so fatigued all the time and weak. My appetite is low, my energy is non-existant, I still often feel that UTI "feeling" in my crotch even after finishing antibiotics, I've had a ton of issues with my stomach and intestinal tract which are also undiagnosed,  and I often get pains in my left side mostly(when i get an infection pain always starts on the left as well) just out of nowhere. I also cant be hugged hard anymore, I feel so tender everywhere most of the time,  and I can barely drink alcohol, I start getting back pains and pain peeing before the night is over-with, and a day or two afterward I usually feel my kidneys arent working properly. I just feel ill, and I want my life back

Thanks,  that sounds pretty scary, how are you coping with it?  At this point I'm fed up with this, I want answers, I want to be healthy!! I asked my dr about a urologist & CT and she said it might not be necessary, she wants to see what the ultrasounds turn up,  as I possibly have some kind of ovary cyst or somethings going on down there on my left side as well, and could be putting pressure on my kidney. My bloodwork hasnt come back yet either. I just feel this isnt taken seriously enough by these people I'm seeing, and I'm getting increasingly anxious about what the hell is wrong with me. I hope you feel better and I'm interested in hearing your kidney story lol, take care

I'm only 19 too and I just found out I have medullary sponge kidney. (I don't have UTI's, but it is an effect from MSK) You may want to see a urologist... that's how I found out I had it. The pain sounds similar to mine and anyone who has kidney stones.. have you had a cat scan to see if you have them? I know your pain though..because I feel like that all the time and it's a bummer because this is when we're supposed to be "young and healthy". But MSK is a birth abnormality that causes UTI's, kidney stones and cysts, blood in the urine, infections etc. So I would look into that, because your symptoms sound similar to mine.
