my grandfather has ckd and also suffered with itchy skin,he was given tablets and a crean that seemed to keep it under control x
lindahand is correct, stage 4 & 5 you really start seeing the toxins literally coming to the surface. They cause itching that cannot be relieved and there are studies that link toxins "restless leg syndrome". Stage 4, doctors are usually talking to patients about dialysis or transplant. Stage 5 folks need to be going to dialysis. In doing research on kidney dialysis I ran across this website, http://www.hivehealthmedia.com. Anyone know anything about it?
It would depends a bit which stage, but stage 4 the liturature says can cause itching. The toxins accumulate in the skin. I haven't heard of it being in a specific region though. In stage 5 you can get a whitish powder on the skin from the toxins. My grandfather had that. It looked like he was dusted with talc.
When I had trouble with my urator, I found that my arms itched a lot and from the top of my arm to my elbow I would get small spots.
