I am Type 2 diabetic with hypertension. I have history of elevated liver enzymes when I was in my 20's with no alcohol use.No tests ever ran when i was younger. I am now 51. I have hypopituatarism. During routine lab work, my endo found my ALT(86) and AST (52)to be elevated. My A1C was 9.2 down from 11.5. My LBL cholesterol was 156 and HDL was 58. Triglycerides were 103 and total cholesterol 235. Normal white and red blood count. Creatinine 0.77, sodium 141, albumin 4.5, globulin 3.0, bilirubin 0.8,alkaline phosphatase 89, white and red blood count normal, cortisol 6.1, growth hormone 0.1, T4 1.2, prolactin 4.7, TSH 3rd generation is 1.27, T3, free is 266, IGF-I was 90. All other bloodwork was within normal ranges. I was a social drinker(1 day a week--2 or 3 drinks ) but short term use. I have not dranked since 2/05. my drinking was very short term and infrequent. I am negative for hepatitis. What do you think and what needs to be done next? Could this be cancer or tumor or fatty liver?
