hi. yes if they catch it on a early stage, i too was a heavy drinker in my teens and 20's i quit in 1988.i'm 45yrs old now, i had pain on my side went to dr.they ran tests said i had liver disease enysmes to high,they sent me to a cancer spec. he said don,t worry about it,well now i'm stage 4 liver cirrosis,and enlarged spleen.reason drinking to much .it came back to bite me.talk to your doctor run some more tests,they have meds that help you in early stages to help your liver.stay away from eating alot of salt and shell fish.also too much tylenol will raise your enyzmes. keep in touch with your doctor control the situation get second opinions too.god bless you you will be alright.jr1963
As I Understand it - yes - unless you have advanced to cirrhosis - but even then - if you can remove the assault, your liver can heal and even regenerate in some cases over time...
