There are often no symptoms at all with hepatitis c. Most people who have hep c don''t know they have it for years or even decades. Your levels aren't extremely high but they are elevated and I believe that you should be tested for hepatitis A, B and C - if only to rule them out. I would want to get tested for hepatitis rather than wait to re-test to see if your enzymes normalize. I am not suggesting that I think this is an urgent situation. I am only saying that if the blood tests are accurate - and they usually are - then something is causing your liver enzymes to elevate and I would want to know what it is.
I have no idea whether the supplements are involved but to be safe I would discontinue them until you get some answers.
Mike
Well I am discontinuing the supplements until the new results.
And I pretty much had to talk the doc into checking for hepatitis with this round of testing. He suggested that could be what it is then It seemed like he wanted to double check the lab results then go from there, I said wouldn't it make sense to kill to birds with one stone? So he finally agreed to it.
Jay.
I think you were smart Jay - you really do have to be your own advocate and, at times, a strong one.
I wish you clean results and a quick resolution to this issue.
