Enlarged liver?

For about a month ive had severe pains on my sides, especially the right side, that was painful to the touch. This pain ended up radiating to my chest in which i thought it was a heart attack. Got tested for everything heart related in the ER and everything was normal. The pain slowly faded but the pain in my side remained so I was sent for an ultrasound. I just got my results and the results are enlarged liver. My next step i guess is a blood test and my doctor said she will probably refer me to a GI after i get the test soon. I'm 29 years old and extremely depressed about dying from this. i do have depression and this is making me even worse.

Well they say the liver does not have the ability to feel pain but I have read that the sac surrounding it does so the pain could indicated that the liver is enlarged.  The pain could also be the gallbladder or the intestines are also very close to that area.

If your liver is inflamed and irritated, yes, fatigue could happen.

I was tired for a very long time before I found out I had HCV then cirrhosis.  I was tested for HCV back in the90's but I received a false negative.

Agaim, drink a lot of water to help your liver work better.  Even being dehydrated a bit can cause pain and fatigue
Hang in there, get the blood work, while you are waiting try to eat healthier, drink water

Take care, please let me know how you are doing

Is pain and fatigue normal for an enlarged liver? My sides hurt bad. I also feel sick to my stomach sometimes. I do eat fast food and my diet is extremely bad. I don't drink often.

Hi I am really sorry to hear this, I know it can be scary, please don't think you are dying.
I have thought that in the past, when I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, when I was diagnosed with cirrhosis.
All these things to knock us back a step or two, it takes time for the brain to wrap around our "new truth" about ourselves, but it does happen.

The best thing you can do is find out more information about your condition, try to research, try to see what could be the problem.  Are you drinking alcohol?...of course first question they ask, are you eating well?..or are you eating fast food? that will upset your liver and make it harder for the liver to work.

The liver has to process everything we  either put in or on our bodies.  It can get over worked and tired.  We have to give it a break.
Try drinking lots of water to help it do its job.  Try eating fresh fruits and vegetable, a little chicken or fish would be good

Take care
