Suspicious Lesion on Liver

I had nasal pharangeal carcnoma found by a biopsy in late 2006.  I had radiation and seed implants.  I also had pancreatic neoplasm and they removed the lower portion of my pancreas.  I have been having off and on stomach pains for several months.  They just did a CT Scan w/ contrast.  Today the doctor called and told me I have a suspicous lesion on my liver and I am to have an MRI.  Why does he refer to it as suspicious?

All lesions are suspicious. The follow up Contrasted CT Scan and/or MRI is to see if the lesions is benign. Growth would indicate malignancy. Did the doctor order an AFP [alpha feta protein] lab? This is used as marker for liver cancer.

Being someone faced with  a similar predicament I can say that, from my personla experience, that he thinks it COULD/MIGHT be a metastases or a primary malignant tumor but the CT does not provide enough information, so you have to undergo a MRI so he can actually find out what it its.

I hope your exam  turns out OK!
Good luck!
