Hello and hope you are doing well.
The pain could be from the gallbladder. It could be if there is a stone in the gallbladder or if its wall is inflamed. The other causes could be gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and GERD. Disorders of the liver and colon could also cause pain. Kidney disorders too produce colicky and sharp pain. Sometimes anxiety with flatulence can cause this pain.
For ruling out the possible cause of your pain, you will have to consult a General Physician, who would examine you and advise blood tests for liver function tests and maybe to do an abdominal ultrasonography to rule out hepatic enlargement or any stones in the gallbladder.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Not to concern you at all but I was experiencing abdomen/rib pain which led me to seek council from my Primary Care Doctor. She sent me off to get a Ultra Sound of the upper right quadrant (liver, gall bladder, pancreas etc) which showed a mass in my liver. I then had a CAT scan which showed 3 masses in my liver now I'm awaiting an MRI.So I would would have it looked at just to be safe.
Best of luck!
