hi
thankyou for the reply, i was tested for hepatitis b and c, i dont think i was tested for hepatitis A, i had never been tested for mononucleosis, but i did suffer for many months of weakness and tiredness and flue like symoptoms.
so it could highly be a chance it was a mononucleosis, but it was newgative when i was tested a few months later and the report sauid this is normal in viral infections. At the time there was an outbreak of the swine flu in the UK, would you say that could possible cause a positive result in this too?
thank you so much, been a great help
tony
Hello and hope you are doing well.
The ASMA levels are used to detect auto immune hepatitis and can be raised in viral infections, mostly viral hepatitis A, B & C. It could also be raised in other conditions such as infectious mononucleosis.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
