Angular Cheilitis and lyme

Hey, I have just developed in the last couple of days redness in both corners of my mouth and I can't open my mouth wide...could this be related to lyme.  I look up this angular cheilitis and it mentions bacteria and the first thing I think of is my lyme is acting up in the most weirdest places.  Gosh I hope I am imagining this,  Help!!!

Patsy10 is right -- I read the same thing last night after posting here.  I know Lyme depletes magnesium in the body, but the long battle against the bugs must surely take a toll overall too, so keeping vitamin levels up would seem a good idea.

I have not been much for supplements, but lately have been studying what to take and am beginning to do so.  It's so confusing!!

I have also read that vitamin deficiencies can cause this as well.

Jackie, Gorbybelle,
Thanks for the info...I am not on any meds....I do have some cream I have been putting on from the dentist, it may take awhile to heal.  Every time I get sick or something out of the ordinary happens to me...the first thing I think of is my lyme...hate that feeling.
Thanks again guys...take care.

...this is probably nothing to do with this but - about a week ago I drank some water with ice cubes in  - after about 30mins. the corners of my mouth felt quite sore and my mouth was dry - it wore off after several hours - I have never had this before - I am on abx.

I looked it up and it could be a yeast/fungal infection -- are you on antibiotics?  Or it could be a vitamin deficiency, all according to that renowned medical authority (not!) wikipedia.  Or it could be other things.

I'd call my doctor, if I were you, tell the nurse and see what s/he says, or go to urgent care.

[I'm not medically trained, so don't rely on me.]  Let us know what you find out ...
