A neuropsych test or eval is different from the online vision test mentioned earlier. A neuropsych is used for evaluating for psychiatric, psychological or learning challenges, while the vision screening is to test whether you've been exposed to biotoxins. Apparently biotoxins are picked up from exposure to toxic elements such as mold or various chemicals and they are able to tell through something in your eyes whether you are still carrying around these toxins. Also there seems to be some kind of connection to lyme disease and biotoxins/multiple chemical sensitivities - not sure exactly how that works. So, there it is ... hope this helps. Also, just so you know (I was a mental health/educational advocate for years, before mold exposure made me too sick to work) the results from your neuropsych eval cannot be automatically shared with anyone without your approval. You'd have to sign a hippa waiver for them to follow you around. Good luck!
I never heard of that testing either. The one my friend had was as you decribed, by a psychiatrist and took a whole day.
thank you for that warning, I've never read that!
I took a neuropsych exam, but it was a "mini" version, taking only 20 minutes on a computer. I regret taking it, it was expensive and not nearly in-depth enough to be of value. It was not through my insurance, either.
I've read that proper neuropsych evaluations can take a full day or more, and should be done by a psychiatrist.
I will be more cautious in the future, I'd hate to have such a thing haunt me professionally!
As for testing for neurotoxins in this way, I've never heard of it.
Hi,
The screening test is done using a vairety of online tests. These tests are done through viewing a series of patterns. You pick the right answer and move on to the next.
The test is done first with the right eye and then the left. Most of the big gurus in lyme use it. These would be Dr. B, and Dr. S.
I wasn't so sure about when my doctor mentioned it but after reading about it on line, it's quite common and very effective. The med brings on a herx and you basically excrete it via the toilet.
Dr. B said that most patients with lyme that have had it over 6 months usually have it.
I tested almost 100% positive for neurotoxins.
I guess the bottom line is that this used to really detox your body.
I'm bringing the results to my doctor monday and see what he says. JKV
What is done to screen for neurotoxins?
