I am in the No, but I think my spouse should be tested. After 2 months into the antibiotics I felt better and all of a sudden he felt worse. He is now going to the dr to see what is going on. This will be the third time he will go to the dr. in our 21 years of husband and wife. If that doesn't make you wonder.
Perhaps you should ask your doctor to give you a test to determine whether or not you have Lymes? It seems to me that the longer you go w/o treatment,(17 yrs.),the more difficult the disease may become.
I completely agree! This happened to me.
You can have the lyme bacteria, but your immune system may be healthy enough to keep it under control. Of course... in the future, that may change if you are ill, under a lot of stress, etc.
You should add a "no, but perhaps they should get tested". That is the category my husband falls into. When i got the positive Igenex results, my neuro looked at his assistant and said perhaps my husband should get tested. It just to happens that my husband is his patient as well for nerve pain and chronic fatigue. Food for thought.
The doctor never discussed this with me but I do not have a definitive diagnosis of lyme. I had the bullseye rash 17 years ago. I personally think it is likely to be contageous because it is a spirochete like syphillis which is definitely sexually transmitted. With that said, my husband of 20 years has never shown any signs or symptoms of lyme and has never been tested.
