LLMD - phone conversation

Hello from 'WET'  U.K.!

I spoke to my LLMD. yesterday - he is so kind - I could hug him - [not sure he'd appreciate] - he is so 'unhurried' -[unlike all the other docs. I have been to] - anyway - I told him about the rib pain [new] he didn't think it was anything to do with abx. I have to finish my last week of Amox. and see how I feel - I asked him what effect he would expect the abx. to have - he said - I would have expected you to have had 'flu' like symptoms perhaps or to be feeling some improvement.

I asked that - from the responses I have had from abx. did he still feel it is likely I have Lyme ? - he said - 'that was my diagnosis and yes I still believe it is highly likely' - he went on to talk about testing as a poss. next step - also the pros/cons. of tests. etc,

he said that even the more detailed test results only give a limited amount of info.- [as we know]

I guess by 'flu like' symptoms he is refering to a type of herx reaction -

It was significant improvement and it seemed to be almost sudden.  Either that or I just didn't notice it because I was so sick.  I had constant tingling from the knee down on both legs.  I noticed at about 4 months that was completely gone.  It had been there for a year.

hi,  I thought the same as you 'flu-like' symptoms could be more/new pain - am I correct in thinking it is caused by the immune system fighting infection - inflammation?

how much improvement did you notice after 4 months?

I find it difficult to explain how I feel to doc. - I probably don't do it well at all - since a lot of symptoms have become part of 'normal' life - I may take some time to really write it all down and then read it back as if I were the doc.

Flu-like symptoms can by anything from a headache to aches and pains and other symptoms.  So really your rib pain could qualify IMO.

I saw no improvement until 4 months into treatment.
