Lyme Bacteria Linger In Tissue After Antibiotic Treatment

"The bacteria that cause Lyme disease, the most common tick-borne illness in the United States, can linger in mouse tissues long after a full round of antibiotic treatment is completed, report researchers from the University of California, Davis.

The scientists caution that the discovery does not suggest the presence of chronic disease, nor does it support extended use of antibiotics to treat Lyme disease in humans. Their findings were reported March 31 by the journal Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy."

Hi Patsy,

You're welcome. I'm happy this research was done. There are so many people on the research protocol that I'm on who have chronic lyme disease. A lot of them are making progress.

There IS hope !
