need to find LLMD in Texas (Abilene,Ft Worth,Wichital Falls, anywhere)

I need to find a LLMD that me and my 7 yr old daughter can receive adequate treatment.  I live in a small town, and I am willing to drive where ever I may need. I live near Breckenridge.  I am an hour from Abilene, 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Dallas/Ft. Worth, 1 1/2 hr from Wichita Falls. I can go to Brownwood, Austin... I am desperate and just want a good doctor that will take care of us.  If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.

Yes, I got a letter from him 2  weeks ago and the next day you had posted about how angry you were!  I called and I wasn't sure what to do about it at first, but after you said that he would still be taking the insurandce for a couple of months because he was still under contract, I felt a little better.  I see him and so does my son, so My trips to see him are twice as expensive.    However, I would probably pay to see him anyway, because I am starting to feel better and I have not had that for a very long time!  And my son is starting to improve also.  It is really amazing.

It is also scarry!  Because  most Dr's in general don't seem to be able to help with LYME and here we are getting better while they looked  at us like we are nuts!

Frankly I was ready to try anything for my son to feel better and be his wonderful person again!

I know what you mean about the doctors being annoyed. I am also in the medical field and had my brother ask his doctor to test him for LYme. The md rolled his eyes and simply wrote "lyme" on the lab sheet.  no western blot. so, I called my friend in the lab and without her breaking any HIPPA, she had the lab go ahead and add a western blot.  Havent heard any results back yet.  His initial elisa did come back negative, and when his wife asked the MD's nurse if they orderd the western blot, she rudely applied "they have to weight at least 6 weeks before they can dot that"  WHAT?!!!

Just words of encouragement....I know what you mean by feeling dismissed.  I am in the medical field and I think this is all ridiculous.  My general practicioner was annoyed that I wanted to be worked up for lyme with a positive ELISA.  Docs are losing their licenses just because they treat lymes patients.  What is wrong with this picture?  Take care and this forum has really helped me so far, so you are surrounded by great people here.

We probably go to the same Dr. Did you get the letter in the mail letting us all know he is no longer accepting insurance?

EricaO may well have a name for you.

I just googled "llmd dallas" and got a half dozen hits, most of which seem to be websites like this one where people comment.

I also then googled "llmd abilene" to get you closer to home, and there were a couple of hits there too.

Sometimes of course these hits turn out not to be what they seem just because of the way google works, but it's a start.

Go for it!
